Smallest Car vs the Giants: Peel P50 vs Cybertruck, F-150, Land Cruiser, Palisade & Wrangler

Some car comparisons are sensible. This is not one of them.
The Peel P50 — the smallest production car ever made — is so tiny you can literally drag it into an office (Jeremy Clarkson did). And yet today’s SUVs and pickups have grown so massive that the P50 now looks like an accessory rather than a vehicle.
So we lined up the 1962 Peel P50 against the biggest modern giants, because, well, we wanted to see how hilarious it looks:
Tesla Cybertruck • Ford F-150 • Toyota Land Cruiser • Hyundai Palisade • Jeep Wrangler to answer the only question that matters here:
Just how small is the smallest car ever made in a world of absolute automotive units?
Let’s begin with the micro-legend.
Peel P50 (1962)— The World’s Smallest Car

Created on the Isle of Man in the early 1960s, the Peel P50 remains the Guinness World Record holder for the smallest production car in history. It offered the essentials: one door, one seat and three wheels — nothing more.
- Length: 137 cm (53.9 in)
- Width: 104 cm (40.9 in)
- Height: 120 cm (47.2 in)
- Seats: 1 (yes… just one)
- Boot: 0 litres — anything bigger than a sandwich stays home.
The P50 isn’t just small. It’s tiny.
- It’s shorter than a modern fridge.
- Its wheelbase is shorter than the Cybertruck’s tyres.
- You could park three P50s in a single Ford F-150 bed.
- Two adults can carry it like oversized IKEA furniture.
Now let’s see what happens when David meets… six Goliaths.
Tesla Cybertruck (2023) — The Stainless Steel Beast

- Length: 568.2 cm (223.7 in)
- Width (mirrors out): 241.3 cm (95 in)
- Height: 179.3 cm (70.6 in)
Size Reality Check:
- Four P50s fit end-to-end along a Cybertruck.
- The Cybertruck is 137 cm (53.9 in) wider than the P50 is tall.
- The P50 would disappear entirely between its wheels.
- The Cybertruck’s ground clearance alone is 21% of the P50’s total height.
Visually? It’s one of our favourite comparisons. Take a look for yourself.
Ford F-150 (2024) — America’s Best Selling Pickup

We’ve chosen the biggest, longest F-150 variation (SuperCrew, 6.5ft bed, 4x4) to compare to the P50, because… it looks the funniest.
- Length: 619.5 cm (243.8 in) - longer than the Cybertruck
- Width (mirrors out): 243.1 cm (95.7 in)
- Height: 196.8 cm (77.5 in)
Size Reality Check:
- You could park a P50 sideways in the F-150’s bed.
- The F-150 is 4.5× longer.
- Its mirrors-out width is 140 cm (55.1 in) wider than the P50 is tall.
- The F-150’s wheelbase alone (399 cm = 157.1 in) is 2.9× longer than the entire P50.
Next to the longest F-150, the P50 looks like its keyring charm. See for yourself, look at the front and back views too!
Toyota Land Cruiser (2021) — The Go-Anywhere SUV

- Length: 496.5 cm (195.5 in)
- Width: 198 cm (78 in)
- Height: 195.5 cm (77 in)
Size Reality Check:
- The Land Cruiser is 3.6× longer than the P50.
- It is 75 cm (29.5 in) taller — that’s over half another P50.
- The P50 is narrower than the Land Cruiser’s front grille.

Hyundai Palisade (2022) — The Seven-seater

Length: 498.1 cm (196 in) Width: 197.6 cm (77.8 in)Height: 175.1 cm (69 in)
Size Reality Check:
- The Palisade is 3.6× longer.
- Its bonnet alone is basically the length of a P50.
- A P50 could likely drive past a Palisade without being noticed.
- The Palisade fits 6 more passengers
Side by side, the Palisade could genuinely lose the P50 in its blind spot.
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (2017) — Off-road Royalty

- Length: 478.5 cm (188.4 in)
- Width: 187.5 cm (73.8 in)
- Height: 186.8 cm (73.5 in)
Size Reality Check:
- The Wrangler’s wheelbase (300.8 cm = 118.4 in) is 2.2× longer than the entire P50.
- Its tyres alone are around half the height of the Peel.
- You could fit a P50 between its axles like a spare wheel (take a look).
The Wrangler looks ready for an adventure, the P50 looks like it needs permission to come along.

What This All Shows
It’s the perfect reminder that cars don’t have to be huge, but, with modern safety standards, they also can’t be as teeny as the P50.
